Waiting on the Lord

That 4-letter word - wait. That was our theme this week. Did we wait on the Lord during our church time today?

Psalm 130:5-6 (New International Version)
5 I wait for the LORD, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope.
6 My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more
than watchmen wait for the morning.

I thought that we touched it a bit.

  1. Considering we had a tense start at practice, I felt worship went beautifully...at least, I felt His presense, and did not just "lead" worship, but was in a place of personal worship...thank you Jesus! Waiting on the Lord, why do we resist that sooo much instead of EMBRACING it, TRUSTING HIM, and even being calm and excited about the good He promises to work in our lives? A sister in the Lord was sharing with me today after sevice how she has been so worried about the economy, her job, money, ect. Then the Lord spoke to her, I am the Everlasting God, I am your provider, I am not restricted by the economy, You are my child, I am your Father, make your needs known to Me and I WILL PROVIDE!! BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD....WAIT ON ME. We need to release ALL to the Lord, and ANTICIPATE what He is about to do for the children He loves. On a technical note, someone else after church commented on our demeanor as a worship team. Felt we needed to have a worshipful body attitude i.e. arms not folded, hands not in pockets, focus on the Lord and our worship, not on performing....also, instuments, too loud. The pre-service song that Lauren did was not heard or understood due to the high volumne of the instruments, especially the piano. Don't kill the messenger! I just promised I would pass this on!!!

  2. Exactly the kind of thing we are looking to hear so that we can be sharpened as instruments in God's hands. Thank you!

  3. I was thinking more about service yesterday. Offering prayer ministry during communion is very powerful and a great asset to giving the Spirit room to move...Was wondering if the location was a little awkward? Maybe the Prayer Team during communion could be gathered at the door up front that leads downstairs? That way it is a bit more private for the person needing prayer, they could file up to the team along the window isle, and communion would not be distracted by persons needing prayer...thoughts?
